New monster, item throwing, and expanded intro sequence (V0.15)

It's been a week or two since the last dev blog. Much has changed, and the plan for the game has evolved. I am actively working on a 'vertical slice' of the game to create a demo of what the game should play like in it's completed state. the demo will contain the first zone of the game, and I aim on it taking roughly an hour to complete on first playthrough, not including optional sandbox gameplay. This first zone will focus on introducing the player to the concepts of the game and the way it's mechanics intersect. Hopefully creating a good foundation for the complete journey, while being an exciting adventure of it's own.
List of significant changes since last dev log
- The beginning tutorial zone has been completely remapped with the intention of making it a much more directed sequence, leading into more sandbox elements soon after it is completed.
- All items can now be thrown. Thrown items do damage against entities depending on their velocity, mass, and weapon damage modifier.
- Added doors, some doors can be locked and unlocked if you have the required key, blocking the path of yourself and other creatures.
- Added a knife. Obtain it as a lucky find or defeat a new enemy for a guaranteed drop.
- Added a WIP boss enemy guarding the daycare.
- Additions to terrain details
- Rewritten dialogue with the trapped human NPC
That's all for this update. Please try it for yourself, and if you have any constructive feedback, please do not hesitate to give it in a comment, message, or thread. Anything helps in the development process.
